While Bridal Extravaganza of Atlanta happens twice a year, you can count on the fact that no two shows are ever the same. Our vendors always bring the latest trends to gallery designs, and we’re always looking for more ways to elevate the planning experience for brides. We love connecting brides and their loved ones with vendors that bring their wildest dreams to life on one of the most important days of their lives.

So when our friend-or Ashley Charron from Boxwood Bridal Co. got designer bridesmaids dresses dropped in her lap, we knew we had to bring some of the beauties to Bridal Extravaganza of Atlanta brides. Enter: The Boxwood Bridal Co. and Bridal Extravaganza of Atlanta Bridesmaid Pop-Up Shop.

After having more than 700 designer bridesmaid dresses dropped in her lap by an anonymous donor with the only instruction being to “DO GOOD,” Boxwood Bridal Co. founder Ashley Charron got to work doing just that. Ashley has been partnering with wedding vendors and nonprofits in the area, donating proceeds from sales and, in some cases, even the gowns themselves to worthwhile charities and missions.

And these aren’t just castaway dresses either. Some of them are from the designer’s brand-new, never-before-seen line, featuring gorgeous tulle and striking colors, going bold with black and feminine with touches of lace. When Ashley received the gowns, there were so many different styles that sorting through the dresses – a process which took a small group nearly 4 hours – “felt like Christmas,” Ashley told us.

“The color palette is gorgeous,” Ashley said, “not your primary bridesmaid color palette. Around 20 different colors in muted, dusty shades. We opened one box and saw 9 different shades of blue! It’s been super exciting to just see the beauty and creativity that has gone into these gowns – and to see the design of the gowns.”

So how are these gorgeous dresses going to “Do Good” at the Bridal Extravaganza of Atlanta Pop-Up Shop?

The Bridal Extravaganza of Atlanta Pop-Up Shop is not a one booth pop-up shop. We are thrilled to be able to offer brides and their bridesmaids more than 400 designer dresses to shop, with proceeds benefiting two Atlanta area non profits, Connections Homes and Rainbow Village.

In true Bridal Extravaganza of Atlanta fashion, we’re turning the pop-up shop into an elegant, fun experience for brides and their girls. We’ll have fitting rooms, mirrors, a lounge area, and even live music for a relaxing experience to try on dresses and do some good at the same time. Brides will have a chance to shop with their bridesmaids and mix and match as many styles as they like the same way they would in a bridal shop, but without the limitation of sample sizes or special ordering. These gowns are in sizes 0-30, and will be ready to take home the same day. Plus, bridesmaids can rest easy knowing that this fun experience isn’t going to break the bank. All designer gowns are priced under $100 for the pop-up shop.

In addition to the Bridesmaid Pop-Up Shop at Bridal Extravaganza of Atlanta, Ashley’s vendor-focused organization, Event Pod, will be providing a gown to the winner of the wedding they’ll give away in 2019. A  few dozen dresses have also made their way to Rainbow Village for a Makeover Day for residents, women transitioning out of homelessness and into a career by receiving apartments and advanced education and training. Some of the gowns will be donated to the Tim Tebow Special Needs Prom, specifically to the event taking place at First Baptist Church in Cumming. Materials from some dresses will be given to Angel Gowns by Diane, an organization in Texas who make burial gowns for babies who weren’t with us long, and Peace of Thread in Clarkston, who work with refugees designing handbags. The Mercantile on Main will also be selling some gowns and donating the proceeds to Peace of Thread.
